Agenda for Face Off for Teen Mental Health Event

Below is some important information regarding the event.

Players must each raise at least $125 to play in the Face Off for Teen Mental Health High School Game. You may pay the difference yourself online. The top three fund raisers will receive a gift certificate prize. Winners determined as of 10PM on Friday October 19th.

High School Players with equipment are required to ENTER THROUGH THE BACK DOOR of Rust Arena (Entrance is across from the entrance to the GOLD arena)

High school Players will pick up their jerseys at the check in gate at the back door. Please bring your own socks (Red or Navy blue if you have them, OR any color is OK)

The High School game will be a NO-CHECK game. Incidental contact and angling along the boards will be allowed. Body checks will be assessed a minor penalty.

VIP Lounge passes will be available for those that have purchased them at the check in table outside the VIP lounge. VIP passes may be purchased onsite at the entry area T-shirt table.

At approximately 7:40 PM, immediately following the end of the UD vs NAVY game we invite all interested attendees to join us for a 10-15 minute presentation by the National Alliance for Mental Illness on the topic of teen mental health and the growing incidence of teen suicide in the DANCE STUDIO next to the VIP lounge in UD’s Rust Arena upper level.

The last day to buy tickets online for the UD vs. Navy game is Tuesday Oct 16th to allow time to send them by mail. Tickets may be purchased at RUST arena now until game time on Saturday.

Players 12 and under playing in the shoot-out between periods at the UD vs. NAVY game may enter through the main lobby.

OCT 20 AGENDA

4:00 PM – Gates open for UD vs. NAVY game

5:00 PM – VIP Lounge opens for VIP ticket holders. Lanyards issued for entry. Special Guests will be listed on VIP List at entrance to lounge. (Staffed by ice arena volunteer staff)

5:25 PM – UD vs. NAVY game begins

5:45 PM – Approximate time of JR BLUE HENS SHOOT OUT between 1st & 2nd period (locker room #3) (Pee-Wee players may enter through the main lobby of Rust Arena) (Bill Williams introduces players)

6:45 PM – Approximate time of NIGHTHAWKS SHOOT OUT between 2nd & 3RD period (locker room #2) (Pee-Wee players may enter through the main lobby of Rust Arena) (Bill Williams introduces players)

7:00 PM – Check in table for all high school players MUST ENTER THROUGH THE BACK DOOR of Rust Arena (Entrance is across from the entrance to the OLD-GOLD arena) (Staffed by ice arena volunteer staff)

7:00 PM – T-shirt and VIP ticket sales for Open Net Foundation event at table just inside the door in front if the ice arena glass when you enter Rust Arena (Staffed by Open Net Foundation)

8:00 PM – Face off for Teen Mental Health High School game – Warm up – 4 minutes – All players line up on the blue line and as names are announced players will skate to center ice under the spotlight and then skate back to their spot on the blue line as the next person’s name is announced. (Bill Williams introduces players)

8: 10 PM – Carpet has been rolled onto the ice for the National Anthem. DMA players flank each side of the carpet. DMA students with colors and flags march on to the ice followed by vocalist and singing (Bill Williams introduces)

8: 12 PM – Moment of Silence (Bill Williams announces moment of silence for Christopher Lavelle who passed away on October 13, 2017)

8: 15 PM – First period 15 minute

8:35 PM – Second period 15 minutes

9:00 PM – Shoot out – 10 minutes (Bill Williams introduces players as they take alternating shots on net until the winner is determined)

9:10 PM – Third period – 12 minutes

9:40 PM – Final period – 1 Minute OPEN NET – players must cross into the offensive zone before they shoot – NO SLAP SHOTS

9:45 PM – Awards – top 3 sponsor players, 2 MVP’s, 2 Shootout champions ( one shooter, one goalie) (Bill Williams introduces the winners)
