Going back to our first event in 2005, the Open Net Foundation non-profit has relied heavily on local Delaware ice arenas to host our events. These events raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide treatment, counseling, education, and assistance for childhood health problems, disabilities, and illnesses.
We are reaching out to you at this time to request your financial support to help two Delaware ice arenas that are being severely impacted by the current pandemic.
Delaware laws required that ice arenas be closed for a significant period of time. During this shut-down period and continuing today, these arenas have incurred substantial financial damage due to that mandate.

While both organizations have applied for PPP loans under the CARES Act, unfortunately it is not enough. If you are familiar with PPP loans, businesses receiving the loans are required to use most of the money for payroll. Ice arenas are light on payroll and heavy on energy and maintenance costs.
With your help, we can assist these ice arenas in bridging the financial gap until their businesses can adapt to the new world order.
please help
The Open Net Foundation is run 100% by volunteers. Over the past 15 years we have hosted many ice hockey games to raise money to fight Juvenile Arthritis, teenage suicide, Autism, Social Skills deficits, and many other worthwhile childhood related health issues in our area.
Although the money we raise typically goes directly to help childhood related health issues, we are making an exception this year to help these ice arenas, because without the rinks, the ice hockey and skating community will struggle and all of us who love to be on the ice may be adversely impacted.
